Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation

The Welsh Government produce a periodic index of local socio-economic deprivation levels. The 2001 ward-based report showed four of Holyhead's wards being among the 100 most deprived wards in Wales. The new index produced in 2005 is based on LSOA's, of which there are far more in Wales than wards. This was updated in 2008, 2011, and 2014.

The new index may be viewed on the Welsh Assembly website www.wales.gov.uk under "WIMD" or by searching on the Local Government Data Unit website by clicking here
